How do I keep animals from chewing on my power cable for my pond aerator and lake fountain?
We use hybrid or plastic jacketed cables to minimize the possibility of animals chewing on them. If you are in an area that requires additional protection for your pond aerator and lake fountain, from animals or other damage then the cable can be installed in a flexible PVC conduit by your electrician to prevent damage.
Read All...How does wind affect my lake fountain spray pattern?
If you live in a windy area you should consider the extent that the spray pattern may be impacted by wind speed. If the lake fountain spray is too high the wind may blow the water outside of the pond or lake. A shorter water jet height may be needed to minimize the impact wind will [...]
Read All...If you add fish to your pond does that add more oxygenation?
Fish require oxygen in the water, if a pond or lake is already oxygen deprived then the addition of fish will make it worse and they will not likely survive. The easiest way to improve the oxygen content in a pond or lake is to add an aeration device. When water is sprayed in to [...]

120 and 240 volt single phase power are two of the most common voltages available for lake or pond fountain power. This is generally what is available in nearly all residential properties. 240 volt is marginally more efficient but the main advantage is that your wire size is substantially smaller when compared to a similar [...]

Read All...What is the difference between a fountain and an aerator?
A fountain uses a higher pressure low volume impeller pump to generate larger spray patterns through a nozzle. An aerator uses a low pressure high volume propeller pump to spray large volumes of water at a lower height for enhanced aeration capacity.
Read All...How do I decide what size fountain/aerator I need?
Fountain size is a personal choice based on pond size and ensuring the majority of spray pattern stays in the pond on a windy day. Aerator size is dependent on pond shape, size and biological loading. An irregular shaped pond may be better aerated with multiple smaller units than one large one. A typical rule [...]
