Made down the road
Arbrux has made aquatic equipment since 1979. In 2024 the company moved to Portland, on the shores of Big Rideau Lake, and that is where every unit is assembled today.
For anyone with a dock on the Rideau system or in the Thousand Islands, that means advice from people who know your water, and a team you can actually reach by phone.
Three situations we see all the time
Canal lakes with managed levels
Big Rideau, Upper Rideau, Lower Rideau and the lakes that feed the Rideau Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are managed by Parks Canada, and levels can drop for the winter. Check your depth once the drawdown is done. For de-icing, the pump wants 4 to 6 feet of water.
Island docks on the St. Lawrence
River current keeps some channels moving, yet sheltered bays and the water around island boathouses still freeze hard. That sheltered water is where a de-icer earns its place. For a rocky island shoreline, the free-standing Lake Bottom Bundle can sit right where it is needed.
Weedy bays by July
Many Rideau bays thicken with weeds through the summer. Run the same pump as a circulator to clear a 60-foot diameter of lake bottom, or pair it with the 360° Oscillator for a longer shoreline.

Is this the same Arbrux that has been around for decades?
Yes. The company was founded in 1979 and came under new ownership in 2024, when it relocated to Portland. The products and the focus on quality carried over.
My dock sits in moving river water. Will a de-icer help?
In a fast channel, it may not be needed. In a sheltered bay or behind an island, it usually is. Call us and we will talk it through.
Which mount suits a crib dock on the Rideau?
Most crib docks and boathouses suit the Dock Bundle, which bolts to the structure and pivots to aim the flow. Our guide to choosing a mount covers the rest.
